Leotard, American Apparel; jeans, BDG; belt, Forever 21; wedges, Aldo. I bought this necklace on the street from a local designer and I wear it almost every day. The flower crown is homemade.
Describe the top outfit you have chosen. Where are the pieces from and why did you choose this ensemble? I love this outfit because it’s simple and comfortable. Nothing is better than feeling underdone and overdressed at the same time. The flower crown draws a lot of attention and gets a lot of questions, so I usually reserve it for special occasions.
What inspires your style? Being true to myself. Geometry, nature, reflecting my environment, simplicity. I’m no stranger to fierceness, or oddity for that matter–but more important than knowing what to put on is knowing what to take off.
If you could describe your style in 3 words, what would it be? Always something unexpected.
Do you follow fashion blogs? If so, which ones are your favorites? Not so much. I draw more inspiration from the people around me. When I do keep up with trends, I tend to pay more attention to men’s fashion. A lot of women overdo it and there’s a general tendency toward too much. I look to men’s fashion because it’s pared down. I also think trends have far too much sway in women’s fashion. Style should be grounded and individual–trends shouldn’t define a person’s style.
Which Celebrity’s Style do you admire the most? That’s a hard call. Toss up between Iggy Azalea and Lana Del Rey. Both have incredibly unique style and I love that they have the pretty-girl-gone-bad look down to a tee, in their respective ways.
What trend are you most excited about for Spring 2013? There’s a palpable convergence of hip hop and hipster culture and I’m really digging the style that’s coming out of that. I like seeing Kendrick Lamar and A$AP Rocky wearing skinny jeans, and I like seeing hipsters wear sneakers with more clean-cut looks and baseball hats with holographic stickers. It’s a nod to the state of music right now, and I always think fashion and music should reflect each other. Well…good music and good fashion, at least.

Dress, vintage, from Goodwill; belt, Theory; cardigan from Anthropologie; boots, Aldo; bracelet from Modern Love Providence. On Lucien (Frenchie you wanna frenchie): rope leash and collar, Found.
What is a signature Spring piece you think every female/male should have? I’m really into Sorel boots for the spring rain, for men and women, and jean jackets are on one hundred. Couldn’t be happier about that.
What is a trend (past or present) that you absolutely hate? JNCOs, across the board. That was such a sad time for pants.
What is the last clothing item you ‘splurged’ on? A silk kelly green tulip dress which I have yet to wear.

This is my mode most days. Form follows function, and my function has no time for hair, jewelry, heels, or makeup. I’ll always throw on some red lipstick to fake it till I make it.

Jacket from Anthropologie; top from Sway SF; jeans, BDG; flats, Aldo; sunnies, Persol.
Wearing sweats while running errands. Okay or Not Okay? Totally okay. Let’s be real. Life is hectic! Please no Juicy velour though.
Which city (domestic or worldwide) has the best style, in your opinion? New York, hands down.
What is your favorite clothing item in your closet? My black high-waisted skinny jeans. They’re simple, but versatile, and they get the most wear by and far.
What is your go-to karaoke song? I don’t do karaoke, but my go-to dance party song is “Juicy” by Biggie. On second thought, if they had it at a karaoke bar, I would probably start doing karaoke.
Alexandra is an SF resident, Law Student, Editor and bona fide overachiever. Lover of life’s greatest splendors, particularly coffee, academia, athletics, and puppies. Rarely arrives anywhere more than twenty seconds early. Cali girl, through and through.

Ugh, MEGA BABE.
That girl, is one bad ass bitch.
I love that Lucien made a guest appearance.
